Union boss Vassiliadis visits Kapellen

Abdulrazak Kattan, head of the Baladna Nosor company, was able to greet a prominent guest: Michael Vassiliadis, chairman of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union (IG BCE), paid a visit to the still young company. The Baladna Group is an international importer of halal food. Mainly, pickled vegetable specialties, oils, spices and dry products are sold. 95 percent of the goods are vegetarian, vegan and gluten and lactose free. The company exports to all of Europe from the Kapellen site. Particularly popular: Mardos, mini aubergines in olive oil, heartily filled with walnuts and various spices. Baladna Nosor started in 2018 in Kapellen with only six employees. Michael Vassiliadis was impressed by the growth success of the company, which now has 31 employees and continues to export. He also praised the company's social commitment. Since founder Abdulrazak Kattan had to flee to Turkey with his family even when the war broke out in Syria, it is part of the corporate philosophy to give asylum seekers the chance to find their way into the first job market. “We therefore work closely with the job center,” says Kattan. Michael Vassiliadis praised the commitment of the Kapellen company: "The company is an impressive example of the enrichment of our economy and society through our commitment - in this case Syrian business people and employees."
